Washington D.C. — According to insider sources, a new “October Surprise” planned for an upcoming election is in the works. Conspiracy theorists note the plan will come during major importance, as the “American Agenda” will to find a looming situation for a future elected president.
October surprise refers to a news event used to deliberately influence the outcome of an election. October, since events taken place late this month have greater potential to influence the decisions of prospective voters for the national elections. Many surprises, conspiracy analysts say, are simply political tricks. Such include stating a president’s arrest records or drug usage during the last weeks of the election. However, truth seekers look towards something bigger and approach two famous surprises to poll clues for the next election’s manipulation.
“The first one was in 1972 between Nixon and McGovern during the Vietnam War. National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger of the Nixon administration announced, “We believe that peace is at hand”. Political analyst believe this particular announcement increased Nixon’s chances in the polls. Nixon may have tried to pull troop out of Vietnam during his term, but he knew he needed it to get reelected first.” Nixon was able to out-poll McGovern in every state except Massachusetts, achieving a 20-point lead in the nationwide popular vote. Remaining US ground forces were withdrawn in 1973, with US military forces involvement in Vietnam continuing until 1975.
The second incident occurred eight years later, during the 1980s presidential election. During that time, fifty-two American diplomats and citizens were held hostage for 465 days in Iran. Republican challenger Ronald Reagan believed Jimmy Carter might surpass him in the polls, if a last-minute deal to release American hostages held in Iran happened. “So, [Reagan] secretly made a backyard deal with the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam’s Line, who took over the US Embassy in Tehran, they be held for another 45 days.” The media covered the story with the Iranian government’s decision—and Carter’s simultaneous announcement— the selected hostages would not be released until after the election.
“We all know that politics are dirty, but at the cost of false hopes and the safety of Americans? If you have ever wondered what’s so special about fighting over the seat in the oval office, it’s the power that comes with it.” Sources in the conspiracy community are quick to point out while many October Surprises listed were Republican tactics, the stunts are bipartisan and political. Democrats are susceptible to using them once the situation arises.
